
Mauricio Wesson is a civil engineer specialized in ocean, coastal, and site engineering. He has more than 15 years of registered professional experience and is licensed as a professional engineer in Wisconsin, Ohio, Illinois, and Costa Rica.
His experience includes coastal studies, numerical and physical modeling, detailed design of ports, marinas, breakwaters, and complex coastal structures. He has also served as Construction Supervision Director for major projects, including Marina Ayia Napa.
Mauricio has published in several technical conferences and invented a wave energy absorbing block wall that has been implemented and constructed. He earned his civil engineering degree from the University of Costa Rica, studied Planning and Design of Coastal Structures in Hyogo, Japan, obtained a Master of Science from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, and carried out doctoral studies in Braunschweig, Germany.
